Do You Know Two Giants & Biggest Search Engine Are In War For AI!

Google and Microsoft, the top two search engine providers, announced numerous new artificial intelligence innovations for their platforms.
Since ChatGPT was launched, the war between Google & Microsoft has been on the next level for AI.

Google announced Bard, after Microsoft followed with the launch of an all-new, AI-powered Bing search engine and Edge browser, advancing the artificial intelligence space race to a new level.
Bard is a conversational AI service powered by LaMDA that is now available to trusted testers. The app uses web information to provide fresh, high-quality responses.

Meanwhile, Microsoft’s AI advances to its Bing search engine and Edge web browser are intended to combine search, browsing, and chat into a single unified experience that users can access from anywhere on the internet.

According to the company co-founded by Bill Gates, the unified experience, will provide better search results, complete answers, and a new chat experience. The Edge browser will also have AI capabilities, a new look, and two new features: Chat and Compose. Earlier, Microsoft announced a $10 billion investment in the artificial intelligence research laboratory and ChatGPT designer OpenAI.

The failure of Bard’s at launch cost the owner $160 billion, but experts believe ChatGPT is also vulnerable to mistakes.

Alphabet, Google’s parent company, lost $163 billion in value on Wednesday and Thursday. The company is still worth more than $1 trillion, thanks in large part to its dominance in search. But how long will this last?

According to experts, Microsoft is also unlikely to emerge unharmed from its mistakes. Indeed, ChatGPT users have reported inaccuracies while interacting with the chatbot, the technology of which powers the new-look Bing and other Microsoft products such as Teams.

Large language models, which serve as the foundation for Bard and ChatGPT, are prone to errors due to the way they are built, according to experts. These models are fed datasets containing billions of words, which train the AI to generate plausible responses to queries. In a manner similar to predictive text, they construct a model to predict the most likely word or sentence to follow the user’s prompt.

Google stated that the telescope error highlighted the importance of the “extensive testing” that Bard is undergoing before it is made available to the general public.

However, if public interest in chatbot-enhanced search remains high, as evidenced by the success of ChatGPT, Microsoft will have a large target to aim for. According to the internet data firm SimilarWeb, Google has a 91% share of the global search market, while Bing has a 3% share.

According to Microsoft, each percentage point of market share gained – presumably from Google – represents an additional $2 billion in advertising revenue for the company, making reference to the profitable business of ads placed in search results.

Microsoft recently stated that Bing’s AI-enhanced ability to understand queries with “greater depth” and gain insights into users through “deep conversational engagement” would be appealing to advertisers. Google obviously confirms.

There is a significant gap to close between the companies: in its most recent quarterly results, Microsoft reported $3.2 billion in revenue from search and news advertising, while Google reported $42.6 billion in search revenue.

Chatbots also require a substantial amount of processing power, so any AI-powered market grab will be expensive, and so will defending a market-leading position.

Google has made significant investments in AI, and its use is evident throughout its products (in Google Translate, for instance). Alphabet also owns DeepMind, a leading AI research firm based in the United Kingdom. Google maintains its dominant position.
